Aris Papageorghiou is Professor of Fetal Medicine. He splits his time between academic work at the University of Oxford, and providing clinical services to the National Health Service at St George’s Hospital in London. He is Research Director of the Oxford Maternal and Perinatal Health Institute and leads research in maternal, fetal and perinatal health using diverse methods. These include large global cohort studies and trials in low resource settings. His research in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in imaging led to him founding the Oxford spin-out, Intelligent Ultrasound. Committed to globally accessible education, he founded www.scan.academy during the pandemic.

Aris is a prolific academic with over 500 original articles and an h-index of 90. He has received many honours, including a prestigious Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Athens; Honorary Fellow Award of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine; and Fellowship of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2022 he was appointed as Editor-in-Chief for the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Xavier Santamaria M.D, Ph.D. is at present a specialist obstetrician and gynecologist in Reproductive Medicine at Clinic IVI Barcelona from 2012. He was Head of IVI International Department Area from 2012 until July 2016 to focus on his field of interest in the biomedical research. He is currently Director of the Asherman Project at iGenomix.

On graduation as Medical Doctor in 2003, he was board certified in obstetrics and gynecology at the Hospital del Mar in 2008. He also completed a PhD at the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona in 2013 and worked as clinical fellow at IVI Valencia from 2010 to 2012 with Prof. Antonio Pellicer, Prof Carlos Simon and Dr Ernesto Bosch.

While preparing his PhD, he obtained a post-graduate fellowship on Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Yale University (2008-2010) performing research on endometrial Stem Cells at Dr Hugh Taylor’s Laboratory.

Among his large post-graduate training, it is worth highlighting an Advanced Training in Gynecology at Universitätklinikun München Grosshadern in Germany, a Laparoscopic Surgery Advanced Training under the supervision of Professor Querleu at the Institute Claudius Regaud - Toulouse (France) and The Frontiers in Reproduction Course at the Marine Biological Laboratory - Woods Hole (USA). He has recently obtained the ESHRE Certification for Reproductive Endoscopic Surgeons (ECRES).

Dr. Santamaria is currently the Vicepresident of the Carlos Simon Foundation and his current research directions are to investigate embryo implantation as well as to develop a cell therapy for the treatment of Asherman’s Symdrome.

He is member of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and of the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF).

Dr. Santamaria was awarded with the ASRM/KY Cha Award for Stem Cell Technologies (2023) as well as with Prize as Best Oral Presentation for Young Investigators at the Society of Gynecological Investigation Meeting (2009) and with the Post Graduate Grant of Fundación Cajamadrid in 2008.

He is main author of more than 28 articles in the international journals, 14 chapters in books and invited speaker in more than 70 international conferences.

Dr. Farrugia is a consultant gynaecologist and minimal access surgeon in East Kent at Spencer Private Hospitals in Margate, Ashford and Canterbury, The Chaucer Hospital and The One Ashford Hospitals. He obtained his MD from the University of Malta in 1990. He became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1996 and a Fellow of the College in 2015. His PhD, awarded in 2009 by the University of London, focused on the effects of hysteroscopic electrosurgery on uterine tissue.

Dr. Farrugia was accredited in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy by the RCOG in October 2000 and in advanced laparoscopy and hysteroscopy by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy in July 2001. He is also certified for the use of lasers in open and endoscopic surgery. He is also trained in advanced early pregnancy and obstetric ultrasound and accredited by the RCOG and the Royal College of Radiologists in October 2001. He has served on the Boards of the ESGE and AAGL, including the Editorial Board of JMIG and is past chairman of the Hysteroscopy Special Interest Group of AAGL.

His endoscopic interests include advanced hysteroscopy, outpatient operative hysteroscopy and in particular bipolar electrosurgery. A major part of his practice includes fertility sparing and enhancing endoscopic procedures.

Abdul H Sultan is a Consultant Obstetrician and UroGynaecologist with a special interest in Pelvic Floor and Anal Sphincter Dysfunction at Croydon University Hospital, London and is Honorary Reader at the St George’s University of London. His research involved studying the effects of childbirth on the anal sphincters. This led to a landmark paper published in the New England Journal of Medicine and to a Doctorate. His pioneering work highlighted the deficiencies in training of doctors and midwives in detecting and repairing obstetric injuries to the anal sphincter.

He is the co-director of a tertiary referral urogynaecology Unit at Croydon University Hospital with subspecialty training and has an active research programme. He has over 250 publications in journals and textbook chapters. He has co-produced the first comprehensive textbook on perineal and anal sphincter trauma and just published the textbook on Pelvic Floor Disorders (2021). He is the co-director of the popular Perineal Trauma and Pelvic Floor Ultrasound courses since 2000.
